History

Mesmerizing and mysterious, Mystic Fire topaz is a unique gemstone with a unique story. Mystic Fire topaz are not found in nature; is natural stone given a unique treatment that allows it to display a stunning rainbow effect that makes it all at once unique, fashionable and delightfully different.

Color

Each gemstone starts as a colorless topaz. After it is cut, a patented azotic coating is applied to its underside, producing a blue‐green appearance that displays a kaleidoscope of color.

Topaz is a variety unto itself.

Hardness

Because it is a topaz, Mystic Fire has a Mohs hardness rating of 8. It is a great choice for all types of jewelry, and since the coating that creates the color and fire are on the underside of the stone, it is not easily damaged.

Treatments

Mystic Fire topaz is treated with an azotic coating, known as Physical Vapor Deposition giving it its unique and colorful appearance.

Care

Mystic Fire topaz should be stored separately to keep from scratching or being scratched. Store them in a lined box or a soft pouch. Special care is required. Clean your Mystic Fire topaz under warm running water and dry with a soft, lint‐free cloth. Avoid polishing and buffing and abrasive, ammonia-based, steam, and ultrasonic cleaners, as these may remove or damage the coating.
